  2. Uphold and promote the principles of this Code • The computing community depends on its members to endorse the code. If the code is not endorsed by its members the Code means nothing. • Also, the Code must be self policed by its members.Meaning that individual members must support and protect the Code to ensure its continuation.

  3. Treat violations of this code as inconsistent with membership in the ACM • The adherence to the Code is voluntary for its members. Enforcement of the Code is left in the hands of its members. • A member committing a violation of the Code may result in termination of membership to ACM.
