AO1 AO1 is about HOW you articulate and organise your ideas. • Your overall understanding of the texts and the question: • Excellent and consistently detailed understanding of at least two text(s) and task undertaken; • You will be assessed on the fluency of your writing: • Consistently fluent and accurate writing in appropriate register; • You will be assessed on your ability to use critical terminology with understanding • Critical terminology accurately and confidently used; • You will be assessed on your ability to create and develop a line of argument in response to your question: • Well-structured, coherent and detailed argument consistently developed throughout the answer.

  3. AO3 AO3 is made up of TWO parts. • Firstly, it assesses your ability to compere the two texts CLOSELY and THROUGHOUT your essay: • excellent and consistently detailed effective comparison of relationships between texts;

  4. AO3 Continued…. • It assesses your ability to make reference to and respond to different readings: • well-informed and effective exploration of different readings of texts. This includes: • Critics responses • Theoretical responses

  5. AO4 • This assesses your ability to write about the texts within their historical, social and literary contexts: • consistentlywell-developed and consistently detailed well-informed understanding of the significance and influence of contexts in which literary texts are written and understood, as appropriate to the task undertaken. This will include: • Influences from the writers’ own lives • What was going on in the world at the time the text was written • Where the texts stand within the literary canon of WW1 literature and influences of other writers.
