  2. Planning your Work • Allow time to collect information. • Analyse the data you collect. • Keep a record of what you find and where. • Discuss progress with me. • Meet the deadline. • Suggested maximum five hours (three in class, 2 out of class).

  3. Task • Choose a material. • Choose a context. • Research. • Analyse information. • Make presentation.

  4. Timing • Introduction – 15 Nov. • Continue ch 5 – 17 Nov. • Coursework – 23, 26, 29 Nov • Hand in – 3 Dec (break, P4, lunch). • Display at parents’ evening – 9 Dec. • Talks – 7, 10, 13, 15?? Dec.

  5. Choosing a Topic • Look for an interesting material and context. • Check the starter activities.

  6. Presentation • Decide your focus. • Decide your presentation method – powerpoint, ohp, poster, website. • Target the presentation to the student audience. • Combine communication techniques.

  7. Documenting your Work • Record website addresses (full url and date you copied information). • Show page references. • Keep notes of planning work.

  8. Assessment - overview • Independence • Use of Sources • Quality of Presentation • Scope of Physics • Use of Physics • Understanding of Physics

  9. Independence • Choose your own material and focus, if you can. • Ask a question – expect a question back, so you maintain independence, but... • Follow guidance given.

  10. Sources • Use more than one source. • Check figures between different sources. • Acknowledge your sources in a bibliography (include: author, page, title, date, publisher).

  11. Presentation • Have a clear focus. • Target presentation to your audience. • Make communication styles support your work. • Include images that add to your presentation • Make ICT add to quality. • Check quality of English.

  12. Physics • Show off the relevant physics. • Check data for conflicts. • Use physics to relate properties to use. • Make sure you understand what you say – you may be asked about it.

  13. Paperwork • Starter sheets. • Coursework Assessment Form. • Candidate Authentication Sheet.
