Goals and Objectives Brief Description: SMART board Goal: Effective Delivery of Instruction Using SMART board Objectives: • To provide instructors a with basic SMART board skills to enhance their teaching experience. • To help instructors incorporate technology into the classroom experience. • To help instructors develop a comport level with SMART board and to actively engage students in the use of SMART board. Learning Activities: -When to use SMART board -How to use SMART board -Basic SMART board skills -Set-up, navigate, utilize SMART board

  3. The Basics • Arrow Keys are always used to flip from page to page • This creates a new Page • This one allows you to open files in the program • SAVE!!! Often! • Paste what you’ve Copied! • Exchange Button… • Undo/Redo buttons • DELETE!!!!!!!

  4. The Fun Begins! • Show/Hide Screen • Full Screen • Transparent Background • Duel or Single Page Display • Screen Capture (Really Fun!) • SMART Document Camera • Chart/Table

  6. Where It Gets CoolPart 2 • Magic Pen • Fill • Text • Properties • Measurement Tools • Move Tool Bar ( For the vertically Challenged)

What You will Make: • How To Do That • Open Notebook • Make a new file: File> new • Add Three or more blank pages: Insert > Blank page • Note: Two People per page • Each Person make a Name tag • Write your name in a color : pick up a pen, click color button • Select your name: Arrow tool, draw a box • Make it text: click upper right corner to recognize • Draw a shape: shape tool > choose shape >drag out for size

Lesson cont. • Fill it with color: select arrow > tap shape > upper right box > properties • Change size of text: select arrow >tap text and drag lower right corner • Bring text forward: select arrow > tap text > upper right box > order > bring forward • Move text into shape: drag object from middle • Select shape and text: select arrow > drag box • Group into one object: Draw {menu} > group • Arrange the names on the screen • Each Person add an animal picture • Choose image icon from tool bar • Choose “Gallery Essentials” > Science and Technology > Animals • Find an animal and add to page: select upper right > add to notebook • Add Fanciness: Draw around it with the magic pen > magic pens > choose color > draw • Select Animal and magic pen: select arrow > draw box around • Group these : Draw {menu} > group • Arrange animals with their owners
