Industrialized country- a country in which a great deal of manufacturing occurs • Boer- South African of Dutch ancestery • Apartheid- system of laws that seperated racial and ethnic groups and limited the rights of black south Africans • Township- South African neighborhood created for those of non-European descent
Enclave- small territory completely surrounded by a larger territory • Copper belt- large area of copper mines • Sorghum- tall grass with seeds that are used as grain • Exclave- small part of the country that is separated from the main part
Slash-and-burn farming- method of clearing land for planting by cutting and burning forest • Deforestation- widespread cutting down of forest • Cyclone- intense storm system with heavy rain and high winds
