Grammar & Style • Reader should format according to the guide following this slide • Piece should be free of typos, misspellings • All acronyms not likely to be understood by a civilian audience should be spelled out parenthetically immediately after they appear in the text • No Footnotes or Endnotes should appear in the document • Story should flow, without breaks or placeholders, from beginning to end. It should be a complete story before making it to the managing editor • Readers should keep a log of the suggestions made to the author. These will be provided to the managing editor and any future readers to avoid conflicting/repeated advice. When submitting the draft for further consideration, include your log as a separate document.
