Purpose: For an improved patients and orthodontists comfort the Forsus™-Spring can be used in place of the Herbst Device in combination with the RME. Compared to the stiffness of the Herbst, the main advantage is its flexible construction and the quick incorporation.
Material: The FRC-appliance consists of RME-screw, solded lingual archwire, Forsus™-Spring and vestibular sectional arch. The FRC has the advantage of less breakage, less tissue-irritation and lab/chair-time, no screws, comfortable wearing and adjustment. In comparison to the Herbst Device, only palatal and lingual solding is necessary.
27.01.2011 27.01.2011 27.01.2011 Patient: Rob W., male 15 y old, overjet 7mm, Cl.II,2 Combined with RME, the Forsus™ DeviceEZ is very robust and leads to a quick result using well-defined continuous forces. Adding a full-arch multibraces system is easy e.g. needed in class II,2. Therefore all 8 bands of the FRC may remain in place.

20.04.2011 20.04.2011 At first the RME device and the lingual archwire were attachted. 20.04.2011 20.04.2011
05.05.2011 Situation after 2 weeks, the Hyrax Screw was fixed after succesful Maxillary Expansion – a Diastema is shown and the archwire is fixed. 05.05.2011 05.05.2011
19.07.2011 10 weeks later the upper jaw was aligned and the upper incisors were proclinated to unlock the lower jaw. The Forsus Spring was attachted. 19.07.2011 19.07.2011
22.11.2011 After 4 months a Cl. I relationship at the canine has been established, so the forsus spring could be removed. 22.11.2011 22.11.2011
13.02.2012 While the Hyrax screw also been removed the bands of the FRC may remain in place. 13.02.2012 13.02.2012
02.04.2011 02.04.2011 (The multibraces device will be removed within the next weeks.) Results/Conclusion: The Treatment time with the FRC to Cl.I correction took 7 months. The whole treatment time is about 12 - 15 months. The FRC gives an exceptional advantage combining a non-compliance class II correction in one-phase treatment with multibraces which leads to a short treatment time.
