The Barter Game Barter: Direct trade in which one set of goods is exchanged for another.
Directions • Students will be divided into 5 groups that represent countries. • Each group will be given a card that identifies a resource that it is rich in and a card that identifies a resource that it is need of. • YOUR GOAL IS TO BARTER WITH OTHER GROUPS TO OBTAIN THE RESOURCES THAT YOU NEED. • You can only trade a resource rich card for a resource need card. You cannot accept offers of money or credit.
Conclusion • How many groups were successful in getting what they needed? • If you were unsuccessful what problems did you face? • Why can bartering be a difficult and complicated process?
