iMovie. Tap on the iMovie app. Tap on the plus sign (+). Tap on ‘New Project.’ Tap on the movie camera icon. Tap on the red button to begin recording. (Make sure the cover isn’t blocking the lens!) Tap on the red button AGAIN to stop recording.

iMovie • Tap on the iMovie app. • Tap on the plus sign (+). • Tap on ‘New Project.’ • Tap on the movie camera icon. • Tap on the red button to begin recording. (Make sure the cover isn’t blocking the lens!) • Tap on the red button AGAIN to stop recording. • Tap on “Use” on the bottom left if you want to use that recording. Tap on “Retake” if you want to record the video again. • Tap on the movie camera icon again to film another segment. You can delete or shorten any segment later. To add a title to your video: • Move your video over to the right of the pink/red vertical line. (Your title photo will then be inserted at the start of your video. • Make a title slide in Keynote. • Take a screen shot of your Keynote slide in presentation mode. • Go back to the edit mode of your iMovie. • Tap on the photo icon (beside the music note icon). • Tap on Camera Roll. • Tap on the photo you want to use. • Tap on the photo down below in the edit section. • Move the yellow circle at the top to the desired length. • Voilà! You now have a title for your video!
To add music to your video: • Tap on the settings icon (It looks like a gear.) at the top right of your screen in edit mode. • Slide ‘Loop Background Music’ to OFF. (This will allow you to determine where you’ll include music.) • Tap on the settings icon again to close it. • Tap on the music note icon on the task bar in the middle of the screen. • Tap on ‘Theme Music’ or ‘Sound Effects.’ ** • Tap on the play button besides a choice to hear a sample. • Tap on your choice to drop it in your video. You’ll see a green bar surrounding the video segment you chose. • Tap on the green section of the video to bring up the yellow tool that surrounds the segment. • Slide the yellow circle to make the music segment shorter or longer. **In general, you should avoid inserting music when someone is speaking in a segment unless it is so low that you can barely hear it. To share your finished project: • Tap on the return to the main page icon (It looks like a page with a star on it. It’s besides the ? icon.). • Tap on the play arrow icon (It’s directly to the right of the new project/trailer icon (the + sign). • When the ‘Optimize Playback’ window comes up, tap YES if you’re sure that you’re ready to share your video. Otherwise click NO to view it immediately and decide if it’s ready for viewing. • After you view it, tap on the icon at the bottom of the home page screen (It looks like an arrow is coming out of a box and it’s to the right of the play icon.). • Tap on ‘Photo Roll.’ • Tap on the top export choice – Medium 360p. • After it exports, go out of iMovie. • Tap on your Photos app. • Go into your Camera Roll. • Tap on the video. • Tap on the Share icon (It looks like an arrow coming out of a box.) on the task bar at the top of the screen. • Tap ‘Email Video.’ • Type my Dropbox e-mail address in the To: section. (You have this e-mail address in your hammond email inbox. Sent on 8/29/12.) • Tap on Send. • Voilà!
