  4. The Students • Eighth Graders • Generally little or no previous computer experience • No prior experience with spreadsheet software

  5. Resources • Only one computer in the classroom, on the teachers desk. • Accessibility to a computer lab with 25 computers.

  6. Standards • Instructional • Build new mathematical knowledge through problem solving • Solve problems that arise in mathematics and in other contexts • Monitor and reflect on the process of mathematical problem solving.
