Flexography • Flexography is a printing method where you have a plate where lettering on it, cover it in ink and then you just press it against the paper and it prints the letters onto the paper. It is mostly used to print patterns onto paper to create wallpaper and wrapping paper.
Lithography • Lithography originally used an image drawn with oil, fat or wax on the surface of lithographic limestone plate, which after being treated with a mixture of acid and gum Arabic, and then with water, did attract ink, but only in the drawing's sticky areas and not in the wet etched areas clear of oil/fat/wax, which application prevented etching. The ink was then transferred to a blank paper sheet producing a printed page. It has be used to print text or art work on to paper.
Gravure • You scratch an indented picture into a piece of zinc and then cover it in a slight layer of oil ink and then wipe it off so the ink remains in the indent. Then you lay a piece of damped paper on top of the zinc and it will pick up the ink in the indents and create a picture. This is used to create food packaging or magazines
