Route of Travel • Obstacles: • Loose rug someone could trip over • Plant overgrowth
Ashtray narrows pathway Ashtray in the accessible route makes the pathway too narrow for a person in a wheelchair to get passed
Hallway obstructions • Placing an object on the floor beneath the protrusion will make the obstruction apparent to a person using a cane
Voter Information Postings • Complaint process must be visible • Tables can obstruct access • Signage must be visible from wheelchair • Large print
Voter Information Postings • Voting poster on top of the piano may not be visible to a person using a wheelchair • Monitor postings at all election sites
Doors • Heavy doors can be a barrier to access for some • Lowering the resistance on doors helps make them more accessible
Outreach • Consider accessibility at candidate forums • Bring AVUs to voters • Provide opportunities to use AVUs at public events
