HARD DRIVE By Sam Royce
What is a Hard Drive The Hard drive, also known as HDD or “C” drive is like a massive storage device for the computer. The Hard Drive contains a large magnetic disc that allows it to read and write information.
What its Made of Hard Drives usually includes a spindle that supports a flat circular disk/s called platters which record data. The discs are usually made of aluminium alloy or glass which are non-magnetic materials. Therefore to make them magnetic they are coated with a thin layer of magnetic material. The head is attached to the hard drive next to the platters so that it can pivot back and forth over the them. The heads main purpose is to read and write data to the platters.
