National Immigration Branch • The Mission of the NIB: • To establish and maintain the NIB as a world-class immigration authority which makes a significant contribution to migration management at an international level, and thus helps South Africa to achieve its development goals

OBJECTIVE To establish an information repository which would ensure that the NIB could function proactively on risks and opportunities.

Objective To have a regime where all relevant information is easily available to all stakeholders in Government

Immigration Directives • Monitoring and evaluation of policies governing immigration • Compilation of departmental/country position papers on immigration • Pursue the harmonisation of legislation and policies within the region and the continent • Study on institutionalised remittance • Database of RSA diaspora
Counter Xenophobia • Development of a counter xenophobia programme • Create awareness within government departments • Structures forum with non-governmental organisations • Forum with local integrated foreign communities
