  2. What is his most preferred style of writing? • Faulkner enjoyed doing short stories for most of his writings. • He also liked to do plays and several different novels. • Most of his writing in which were fictional.

  3. What were some tragedies in his life? • William tried to join the air force, but was turned down because he was too short. • His novel “Flags in the Dust” was turned down by every publisher he went to also. • He had a 13 year affair with a young writer, Joan Williams.

  4. What may have inspired him into writing? • He was influenced by his families history and were they lived. • He was later influenced by Sherwood Anderson into trying fiction.

  5. When did he first start writing for profession and why? • His first published novel was done in 1926. • He did it for a hobby which later turned into the rest of his life. • Also by being inspired by his earlier life.
