WHAT IS APAMSA • APAMSA = Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association • APAMSA was established in 1993 • APAMSA chapters are present throughout most medical schools, including USF COM
WHAT IS APAMSA Our mission is to • Improve healthcare for Asians and Pacific Islanders (API) • Foster cultural sensitivity and understanding • Encourage student leadership and community engagement on API issues

International Exchange Student Program • Partner with International Affair office to welcome exchange students from China, Thailand, India, and South Korea • Show them around USF campus and Tampa, have lunch or dinner with them, learn from each other's healthcare system, and learn about possible elective rotation abroad in your 4th year • Will receive volunteering hours toward the required 40 service hour • We need volunteers- see sign up sheet!
SUMMER INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH • Lunch seminars with physicians in international medicine and infectious disease to talk about research opportunities and international programs that you can do in the summer • Tentatively scheduled in Oct or Nov
Hepatitis B and Liver Cancer Initiative • Partner with the Hillsborough County Health Department Epidemiology Program to reduce perinatal transmission of hepatitis B
