DISASTERS CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE
Cross Fell ShelterBox ChallengeObjective • To raise the awareness of ShelterBox throughout the North of England…. • To raise enough funds to purchase 100+ ShelterBoxes
The Initiative • To set up a ShelterBox encampment for one week during mid summer on the top of Cross Fell and invite local business leaders and dignitaries to stay the night at the fee of £490 ( one ShelterBox )

Planned Assistance • The Army – Field Kitchen & Latrines • Air Sea Rescue – Sea King drop • Hoteliers – Chefs • Publicity – BBC / ITV • Mountain Rescue – Safety Support
Encampment 6 Shelter tents with accommodation for 12 paying guests.
Subsistance Each paying participant would receive • Overnight accommodation, dinner and breakfast. • A sleeping bag. • A Cross Fell Shelterbox waterproof jacket. • A certificate confirming completion of the challenge. • A ShelterBox allocation number.
Every ShelterBox has its own unique allocation number. That can be traced through the ShelterBox website. • www.shelterbox.org
District Club Input • We don’t want any of your funds. • We don’t even want much of your time.
District Club Input • All we do want is the name of a Business leader, Celebrity or Dignitary known to your Club that may be willing to take up the Challenge.
Invitations • We would then issue an invitaion in Spring 2009 and handle all the subsequent correspondence, joining formalities etc.
District Club Benefits • A Business leader, Celebrity or Dignitary in your own area with personal knowledge of the workings of ShelterBox. • Increased Public awareness by the above and also via the press / media coverage of the event. • Easier raising of future ShelterBox funds.
…TO HELP MAKE THIS POSSIBLE. Helping the most needy ShelterBox acts irrespective of race, religion or political affiliation. The charity receives no government funding and relies on public donations. Around 90% of all income goes directly on aid.
