Presented by Introducing Douglas Lund benchmark development & construction, south africa Autoclaved aerated concrete (ACC)
AAC was first developed in Sweden and has been used extensively as a building material in Europe for over 70 years.
In the last 20 years there has been a marked increase in the use of AAC throughout the world and plants now exist in the Europe, USA, China, Russia, India, Australia and New Zealand to name a few.
Advantages of ACC AAC was invented before its time, before people really understood the critical need for such a material used in buildings.
minimal environmental impact weighs roughly 20% of the weight of concrete thermal efficiency insect and mildew resistant extremely fire resistant excellent insulation against sound
helps to create a comfortable living environment speed of construction – fast to build with made to precise dimensions eliminates the need for additional insulation water-resistant easy to install using simple hand tools
Precast AAC can be formed into blocks, lintels, wall panels, floor panels, and roof panels, and can be used with a variety of finishes.
Ingredients AAC is a product which is comprised of a mixture containing cement, lime, p.f.a or sand, gypsum, water, steam and aluminium powder.
Presented by Introducing Douglas Lund benchmark development & construction, south africa Vinyl windows (Upvc)
Vinyl (uPVC) windows have been widely favoured throughout Europe for the last 20 years with the use of double glazing. Un-plasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (uPVC) is a rigid plastic which has many benefits as a construction material. uPVC windows have an estimated lifespan of 35 years.
No air and no sound is able to penetrate Very high energy efficiency and will lead to a decreased carbon footprint uPVC is an excellent insulator Cold doesn’t penetrate the frame – no conductance Minimum solar heat gain – cool inside during summer Vast array of durable long-lasting colours
Aesthetically superior Fold away doors
Maintenance is minimal, especially compared to wood or aluminium frames Resistant to corrosion by salt or acids such as nitric acid uPVC not attract termites like wooden frames, and is thus not subject to insect damage uPVCwill not warp, chip, or splinter unlike metal or wood It is not susceptible to rusting It cannot be pried open like wood frames, and thus is much more secure UVprotective uPVC is extremely affordable and cost-efficient for producer and consumer alike
