Magical Miscellany: A Reproduction of Al Munroe's Magic Journal
Description You can how actually READ Al Munroe’s MAGICAL MISCELLANY A reproduction of the magic journal that has eluded magicians and collectors all these years. Imagine reading a good, clean copy of Magical Miscellany originally printed with a Spirit Hectograph. No faded pages - No vanishing inks - No late corrections - No confusing layouts - No illegible text - No greying illustrations - No loss of information in this unique magic journal published by Alfred Foster Munroe between 1943 and 1950. The intent of the publisher was to give the magic community a subscription-free journal, asking only for a donation to cover the cost of the postage which was 4½ cents per copy at that time. The journal was printed by the burgeoning "spirit offse"” process, using indelible inks in various colors. Unfortunately, the original text faded with time, making much of the text illegible. Furthermore, editing the typography was difficult so corrections appeared in the margins and layout suffered continuity, but these problems have been corrected with this recreation of this magic journal. These issues were NOT simply scanned but totally retyped, edited and laid out without changing the language, illustrations or meaning of the work. You get the original 60 issues plus the additional memorial issue published posthumously by Robert Lund. 61 issues full of historic snippets about T. Nelson Downs, Howard Thurston, Harry Houdini, John C. Green and others. You will enjoy the life stories about MAGICIANS OF THE PAST and the first Dante, along with many other reports of magic performers who straggled through the period of World War II to ing the art of magic to the fore.
