Infinitive = To + a Verb Use to plus a verb to form an Infinitive. An infinitive acts like a noun, an adjective, or an adverb. • Like all nouns, an infinitive can be the object of an action verb. Mom decides to go shopping. verb infinitive What teen wants to go shopping? verb infinitive
You can also use an infinitive in the subject of a sentence. • The verb will always be singular. To go grocery shopping is not fun. To go infinitive verb infinitive clothes shopping interestsme. verb
You can also use an infinitive as an adjective or an adverb. I often have a desire to shop. I shop verb infinitive as an adjective verb to buy clothes. infinitive as an adverb
