Grade 1—5 Orientation So you’re enrolled in the religious education program…now what?
Schedule for 2012—2013 Year • Tuesday Classes • 4:00PM—5:15PM • 22 classes • First class: September 18 • Saturday Classes • 9:00AM—11:00AM • 15 classes • First class: September 22 • The diocese mandates a minimum of 30 hours of religious instruction a year plus extra for sacramental preparation
First Day of Class Tuesday: September 18 Saturday: September 22 • Please bring the children to the church and we will assign teachers and classrooms • Teachers have asked that parents come to the classrooms and meet the teachers and they would like to talk with you about the upcoming year • After the first class the children report directly to the classrooms • First grade children must be brought directly to the classroom and picked up at the classroom as they will not be dismissed out to the parking lot • As we head into fall and winter, it becomes dark very early and by December, so be careful in the parking lot! • Please bring the children to the gym and we will assign the teacher and class • Teachers would like to have parents come to the classrooms for the first class for introductions • Since the class will be 2 hours you do not have to stay once the teacher has covered what he/she needs to cover
Health Issues/Early Pick-up • If your child has any health issues, allergies, learning or emotional issues please let us know so we can make sure the child's needs are met • If you need to pick up your child before class ends please come to room 107 and sign your child out • An office person/ secretary/myself will retrieve your child from the classroom • No child will be dismissed to anyone without checking in at the office • If someone else is picking up your child we need a note stating who, when, and why • Please do not roam the halls; dismissal will always be from the Pine street door
Divorced/Separated Parent Issues • If you child goes to the other parent and there are conflicts with religious education, please let us know and we will work out what we can for the child • If there are serious legal issues please make an appointment with us to discuss what we can help you with to provide your children with religious education

Harvest House • We will begin collecting children’s clothes (sizes 0-12) at the beginning of September • If you have any boots, jackets, shirts, jeans, etc. that you no longer use, please consider donating them • Also, we will be collecting Bottles for Babies to help support the financial needs of mothers and their babies
Weather Cancellations • In the event of bad weather, we will use TV-channels 2 and 4, the website, and radio WBEN 930 AM especially for Saturday and Sunday cancellations of classes • Do not call the rectory!
Volunteer Teachers Needed! • We have a need for teachers on Tuesday for grade 4 and on Saturday mornings as well for grades 1, 2, & 3 • Please see me or Peggy afterward if you would consider teaching • Our office will open full time on September 4, 2012 • MaryAnn will be in the office on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings
