Evidence-based advocacy Advocacy should be based on research or collection of data rather than opinion or rumour. Evidence-based advocacy:- • is your authority – gives you legitimacy • is thorough so that you have credibility when arguing your position – you know the counter arguments and can back them up with reputable sources • should be shared with other groups.
