Educational Value • Our game is going to help kids deal with bullying scenarios • Bully Scenarios: • Verbal insults, steal/rob, and, violence • Correct Actions: • Seek help, don’t care, make friends, and build self-esteem. • Bad Actions • Engage with the bully, fight, and show emotions.
Characters Protagonist Squirrel: Sam • Sam and his friends are bullied in school • His mother encouraged him to go to Mr. Hopkins
Characters Fatherly Quest-giver: Mark Hopkins • Redneck rabbit • Asks the squirrels to build a bridge • Gives them a map of the forest
Characters Beavers • Friendly critters • Provide wood resources • Dislike rabbits
Characters Turtle • Friendly critter • Provide water transportation • Found at the creek trapped on his back
Characters Snakes • Hostile character • Verbal bullies
Characters Bears • Hostile character • Violent bullies • Steals resources
What we’ve done so far • Met with Mark from Public Health • Design Revision • Coordinated with artist and writer • Setup Google Code group, FogBugz, and Design doc
Upcoming… Mar 2 - Mar 15 • Draw opening scene picture and build 3D models of characters and resources in Maya. (Meredith) • Finalize conversations. (Jake) • Import obj files and build 3D models using Wild Magic, explore collision detection. (Wen) • Create networking modules and model for map. (Andrew) • Build squirrel 3D models and set up basic actions. (James)
