Concept Based Queries • User gives a query as keywords or in the form of a question. • Search engine (Inquizit) identifies concepts related to the query. • For each concept relevant portions of documents are identified.
An Example... 1) The Query: What color is the sky? 2) The Concepts: Color, Hue, Sky, Atmosphere 3) The Extracts and Documents: “the sky is blue.” Questions Children Ask “the bluish hue results from the refraction of light in the upper atmosphere” Introduction to Physics
