This workshop aims to bring together the communities of users and designers of Compton Sources to discuss the generation, manipulation, modeling, and measurement of photon beams. The workshop will focus on the physics of high brightness beams and their advanced applications in fields like radiological imaging and material studies. The workshop will feature presentations, poster sessions, and awards for the best poster and oral presentations.

Chairs Massimo Carpinelli Luca Serafini MISSION:Synchronized high brightness electron beams and high intensity lasers have become more and more available during the last decade, opening new possibilities for the generation of X and ray beams by Inverse Compton Scattering. Compact sources for high flux generation with unprecedented brilliance, tunability, high monochromaticity and rapidity are under operation and/or rapid development worldwide. Compton Sources are playing an increasingly critical role for advanced applications in frontier fields like radiological imaging, material studies, national security, mainly due to their unique properties, which, in turns, represent also a great challenge to the detection and analysis apparatus. It is time to gather the two communities of present and potential users and source designers within the frame of a dedicated meeting: the goal of this workshop will be therefore to provide a comparative study of the generation, manipulation, modeling and measuring of photon beams by Compton Sources, as well as the underlying methods linking the physics of these beam systems to the physics of their advanced applications.

Posters can be mounted on poster panels on Monday and left for display the whole week. Manning is required on Wednesday afternoon (4-5 pm) during the dedicated poster session. • The publication of the Workshop Proceedings, as well as the submission procedure, will be communicated by the end of the workshop by the nominated Editorial Board. • Awards will be assigned to young participants for the Best Poster and the Best Oral Presentation, as recommended by ICFA Panel: award ceremony on Friday. • Enjoy the workshop and the beach !!
