Who is taking dual credit courses? Students who: • often only need a few more credits to graduate • want to check out college before they leave high school • are looking for a new learning environment • want get a head start in a SHSM program
Who is Eligible? Senior Students enrolled at a York Region District High School
What’s in it for you? • Get a head start on learning and training for a future career. • The courses and books are free. • Public transportation costs are reimbursed.
So how does this work? • Stay enrolled in your home school. • Take one or two college courses, which run once or twice per week at the college. • Students are in a class with other high school students from the YRDSB • For each college course successfully completed students receive both the college credit and a high school elective credit.
What will my timetable look like? • It is recommended that students enroll in a 2 or 4 credit co-op course at their high school in order to have a flexible timetable. • Other timetabling options may be available. • See your Guidance Counsellor
