Leadership support Global level • UNDG Chair/ Principals & Advisory Group • Full UNDG meetings – 5 Working Groups • Delivered 30 products in 2009 for country use with lot of substantive work done by DOCO • UNDG perspective in SWC discussions • Common country programme • Gender entity, governance and funding

  4. Regional level • RDTs finding new ways of engagement with UNCTs for PSG/QSA – e.g. Asia Pacific approach • Capacity assessment of UNDG Regional teams • Implementation of the M&A framework

RCs/UNCTs • Delivering as One: Kigali, Country led evaluations , Hanoi 14-16 June • Expanded Funding Window - $81.5m to 12 countries – Asia- Pacific $23m to 5 countries; 2010 allocation next week • UNDAF roll outs – Next generation of guidance - Simplified UNDAF Guidelines; UNDAF Action Plan; Results reporting on UNDAFs; Implementation support plan $3.5 m. 2010 roll outs – prioritization; create networks for support on substantive issues

  6. Support to Crisis/ Post Conflict countries • SGs report on Peacebuilding • Additional support to countries – DOCO mobilizing additional $25m • Partnership framework with World Bank - Establishing the Haiti MDTF (along with IADB)

  7. Business practices & joint funding • Guidelines on common procurement; delivering as one in ICT; RC domain name; RC/UNCT intranet domain; guidance being developed on common budgetary framework and establishing MDTFs • Agreement on ploughing back operational savings into programmes • Transaction costs – in context of pilot countries • UNDG-HLCM High Level mission – March 2010

  8. RC Leadership • Talent management initiative • 40 RC vacancies filled in 2009 • Improved gender balance (more to be done); inter-agency and North/South balance

  9. Management & Accountability Framework • UNDG, AG, WGs, Regional teams, • RC Job description; Agencies need to tweak the JD of their Reps • MDTFs – agreements on MoU and SAA; UNDG-Donor Meeting on MDTFs • Functional review of DOCO completed

  10. Challenges for 2010 • UNDG Strategy • Follow up to the capacity assessment of Regional UNDGs • UNDAF roll out 90+ countries • Crisis/ Post-conflict support • Business practices • Implementation of functional review of DOCO

Implementation of M&A at Regional Level • Timely quality feedback provided to RCs/UNCTs on workplans and RCARs, Q1 –Q3 ‘09 • First line ‘Trouble shooting’ support provided • Appraisal of RCs/UNCTs, including mid-year reviews for RCs/UNCTs that are under-performing, ensured by Q3 ‘09 • Continuous quality and timely technical support mobilized for CCA/UNDAF processes, 2009. • -

Quality assurance performed through the Peer Support Group, 2009. • - Members of Peer Support Group able to dedicate time to quality support and assurance role given recognition by RDT, 2009. • RDTs to provide comments and input, Q1 ‘09 • RDTs to review success factors in team cohesion and team effectiveness and refer good practices to the WGRCS for consideration, as appropriate, ongoing
