24 Hour RULE 24-Hour Rule: Under this requirement, manifest information must be provided 24 hours prior to the sea container being loaded onto the vessel in the foreign port. CBP may deny the loading of high-risk cargo while the vessel is still overseas.
Container Security Initiative • CORE ELEMENTS • The four core elements of CSI • Identify High Risk Containers. • Prescreen and evaluate containers before they are shipped. • Use technology to prescreen high risk containers to ensure that screening can be done rapidly without slowing down the movement of trade. • Use smarter, more secure containers, to identify containers that have been tampered with during transit. GOALS 58 OPERATIONAL PORTS BY THE END OF 2007 At that time 90 percent of all transatlantic and transpacific cargo imported into the United States will be subject to prescreening.

C-TPAT Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism C-TPAT, is a public-private, international partnership with the Trade Community. CBP along with its partner companies work together to improve baseline security standards for supply chain and container security.
Screening and Inspection CBP screens 100 percent of all cargo before it arrives in the U.S. using intelligence and cutting edge technologies. CBP inspects all high risk cargo.

Canine Detection Teams Canine Detection Teams: More than 600 canine detection teams, who are capable of identifying narcotics, bulk currency, human beings, explosives, agriculture pests, and chemical weapons are deployed at our ports of entry.

Become a C-TPAT Member. Secure the supply chain by doing business with other C-TPAT members. Use a CSI Member Port. File Entries in advance of the vessels arrival. Insure Information on Shipping Bills is both accurate and detailed of items and participants. Ensure shipper is IPPC (WPM) Certified and Wood Products are properly stamped/labeled. When shipping regulated cargo make sure your shippers are certified by the USDA. Insure appropriate USDA Permits accompany regulated cargo & ensure Sanitary Certifications accompany Meat Products.
