  4. What is PEER REVIEW Mayo Regional Hospital • Ongoing monitoring and review of a nurse’s work within the healthcare setting • Identify documentation issues • Identify nursing care issues • Identify system issues

  5. Building the Culture Mayo Regional Hospital • Shared governance • Defining roles and responsibilities • Policy development • Case Identification • Educate nurses, providers, and administration • Standardization

  6. Our Accomplishments Mayo Regional Hospital • Identified system issues • Identified nurse’s individual weaknesses and coach to correct • Identify Improvement Indicators: structure, process, outcome • Identify performance issues • “It’s the best meeting I go to!”

Bumps in the Road Mayo Regional Hospital • Nurses not sure how to review a chart • Tweaking forms to our facility • Structure of meetings • Several different electronic medical records PLUS paper chart • What do we want to review on EVERY chart we look at (standard quality indicators) • Work in progress…
