Mining Industry Human Resources Counsel of Canada • Predicts a shortage of 49% to 81% in the mining industry in Canada in the Professional, Skilled, and Trades occupation areas. • This is mostly due to growth….. • We are encouraging Nunavummiut to enter the trades, offering a wide variety trades training opportunities at the trades school as well as in the communities.

  3. A Territorial Focus • High school liason– curriculum development • Trades Access Certificate • Preapprentrice • Apprentrice • Journeyman updating programs • Industry responsive curriculum development

Trades and Technology • Presently we offer apprenticeship training for : • Electricians Levels I and II • Oil Burner Mechanics Levels I and II • Plumbers Levels I and II • Housing Maintainers Levels I, II and III • Carpenters I, II, III, and IV We also offer certificate training in Trades Access, Camp Cook and CARS Heavy Equipment Operator training is currently being developed.
