Mannerism • Period of European art. • Lasted until 1850 In Italy, was replaced by Baroque. • Controlled and idealistic art. • Associated with artists like Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Raphael. • Most of the faces reflect pain or drama. • Spread to most of Europe.
Baroque • Style of art began in 1600 in Rome, Italy. • Succes of this art style was encouraged by Roman Catholic Church. • Much more emotion, and more dramatic than Mannerism art. • Much more realistic than Mannerism art. • Includes lots of symmetry and 3D shapes. • Spread to most of Europe.
