Existing products • Direct 2 terminal & 3 terminal earth electrode testing • DET62D • DET3/2 • 2 & 3 terminal and 4 terminal soil resistivity testing • DET5/4D • DET5/4R • DET2/2
Products being replaced • DET62D only at this stage • New family to replace DET62D • DET3TD Two & three pole ground tester digital display • DET3TC Two & three pole ground tester with ART capability, digital display • DET3TA Two & three pole ground tester analogue display • DET4TD Two, three and four pole ground tester digital display
New product common philosophy • Intuitive to use • One button operation • Automatic checking to avoid mistakes and poor connections, indicated on display • Complete and ready to start testing kit, including calibration certificate • Competitively priced to sell • Combination of features, benefits and price makes these ground testers the most attractive on the market
New product common features • Based on building wiring housing • Delivered in tough carry case • Includes stake and wire kit with each model • Very high quality large and easy to read LCD • Includes batteries • Has quick start guide on the lid • Easy to use wearing gloves • Comes with calibration certificate as standard • Three year warranty • Avoids language variants for easy stock holding
Basic specification – DET3TD • 2 terminal test, no links required • 3 terminal earth electrode test • Earth voltage measurement • LCD display • Automatic checking of • Current spike resistance • Voltage spike resistance • Earth noise voltage • Blown fuse • Battery status
Basic specification – DET3TC • 2 terminal test, no links required • 3 terminal earth electrode test • 3 terminal earth electrode test without disconnection using optional ICLAMP (Attached Rod Technique, A.R.T.) • Earth voltage measurement • Earth current measurement using optional ICLAMP • LCD display • Automatic checking of • Current spike resistance • Voltage spike resistance • Earth noise voltage • Blown fuse • Battery status
How the A.R.T. technique works • The test works by • Measuring the current flowing through the earth electrode under test that is generated by the the DET3TC at 128 Hz • Ignoring the current flowing from the DET3TC into the parallel connections and other earth currents normally flowing in the electrode under test • This is a huge benefit because • It allows the user to test the electrode without disconnecting it from the system, avoiding the complication of system shutdown or auxiliary temporary electrodes • It means that the connections to the electrode under test can be left un-disturbed
Basic specification – DET4TD • 2 terminal test, no links required • 3 terminal earth electrode test • 4 terminal soil resistance test up to 2000 ohms • Earth voltage measurement • LCD display • Automatic checking of • Current spike resistance • Voltage spike resistance • Earth noise voltage • Blown fuse • Battery status
Basic specification – DET3TA • 2 terminal test, no links required • 3 terminal earth electrode test • Earth voltage measurement • Analogue display • Automatic checking of • Current spike resistance • Manual checking of • Voltage spike resistance • Earth noise voltage • Blown fuse • Battery status
Rear connection panels • Terminals colour coded to lead set • ICLAMP unique connector

Pricing strategy • To be attractive to customers with a blend of quality, performance and value for money • To be attractive to distributors by being profitable and easy to stock
Features and benefits • Delivered in hard carry case • Everything you need in one box • Customers will probably leave the instrument in the case while testing to protect it • Delivered ready to use • Nothing else to buy – batteries, stakes and wire included • Calibration certificate – many users insist on this before use • CATIV rated • Safety class rating in “outdoor” environment required by some customers • LEM Handy Geo only specified to CATII
Features and benefits • Unique to new family at this price level • Attached Rod Technique – currently the LEM GEO-X is the only other product that offers this at a far higher price and as part of a much more complex instrument • No external links required for 2 terminal testing – nothing to lose and nothing to forget • We are strong with • Battery status indicator – not just a “low” warning • IP rating 54 – only equalled by Kyoritsu • Temperature range – the widest • Voltage reading (LEM 30V against our 100V) • Best noise rejection • Equal best accuracy with Alphatek and Extech
Features and benefits • We are strong with • Using 128Hz as our test current – close to mains frequency but easy to detect. Industry standard • 2000 ohm measurement maximum • Instructions on tester • Stake and wire kit included • Conclusion • We have the best blend of specification, included accessories, ease of use and price on the market
