Alloy 188 Sheet Stockists in Mumbai

Alloy 188 is a cobalt-nickel-chromium-tungsten super alloy that is sold under different brand names including: Nickel Alloy 188, Haynesu00ae 188, Udimet 188u00ae. Due to its high level of chromium mixed with small amounts of lanthanum, Alloy 188 can be used to create products that are incredibly tough and corrosion resistant.

Alloy 188 provides an excellent high-temperature strength, suflidation resistance, and good oxidation resistance up to 2000 u00b0F (1095u00b0C). Fabrication is not difficult with Alloy 188, and it can be cold and hot worked, and offers users outstanding ductility and metallurgical stabi

 1. Alloy 188 Sheet https://www.aluminiumwala.com/alloy-188-sheet-suppliers-stockists-importers-exporters.html Alloy 188, also known as Haynes® 188, is a cobalt-based superalloy with excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. It is commonly used in applications such as gas turbine components, aerospace engines, and other high-temperature industrial processes. Features and Benefits :- High-Temperature Strength: Alloy 188 maintains its strength at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for high-stress, high-heat environments. Oxidation Resistance: Excellent resistance to oxidation up to 1095°C (2000°F), allowing it to perform well in oxidizing environments. Thermal Stability: It exhibits stable mechanical properties and resistance to thermal fatigue, crucial for cyclic temperature applications. Fabricability: It can be easily fabricated using conventional techniques, including forming, welding, and machining. Applications :-  Aerospace: Used in jet engine components, combustors, and afterburner liners due to its ability to withstand extreme temperatures and oxidative environments.  Gas Turbines: Ideal for industrial gas turbine parts like combustors and flame holders.  Power Generation: Components in power plants where high thermal stability is required.  Nuclear Industry: Suitable for use in certain nuclear reactors due to its high-temperature performance and radiation resistance. Fabrication and Machining :-  Forming: Alloy 188 can be hot and cold worked. Hot working should be performed at temperatures between 1175-982°C (2150-1800°F). Cold working increases its strength and hardness. Welding: It can be welded using common methods like gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Preheating is not usually required, but post-weld heat treatment is recommended to restore ductility. Machining: Machining Alloy 188 requires carbide tools and should be done at low speeds with high feed rates to minimize work hardening and tool wear.   Heat Treatment :-  Alloy 188 does not require a specific heat treatment for strengthening as it is primarily used in its annealed condition. However, stress-relief annealing can be performed at 1010-1175°C (1850-2150°F) followed by rapid air cooling. Alloy 188 sheets offer a combination of high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and fabricability, making them suitable for demanding applications in the aerospace, gas turbine, and power generation industries. Understanding its properties, fabrication methods, and applications can help in selecting the right material for high-temperature and high-stress environments.
