  1. Ice Biomes • By: Erika Jensen and Hailey Anderson

  2. Introduction • Ice biomes have many plants and animals. • With landforms and insects. • They also have many interesting facts. • With climate, temperature, and rainfall.

  3. Animals • There are Artic fox and Polar bears. • Many beluga and killer whales. • Musk oxen, squirrels, even grizzly bears. • Penguins, Snowy owls, Sea lions, and Artic hares • Most of the animals hibernate.

  4. Plants • Fair amounts of plants • The artic moss and willow. • Flowerless plants that grow on rocks. • Diamond –leaf willow, and Labrador tea. • Pasque flowers are in also this area too.

  5. Landforms • Covered with snow and ice • Ground is frozen 10inches to 10 feet • Sometimes a rocky ground • There are ice mountains • Ice burgs and ice caves

  6. Insects • There are moths, and mosquitoes. • Grass hoppers, and black flies. • Artic bumble bees. • But pesticides have controlled insects. • Because of the insects migrating birds came.

  7. Climate • Very cold • Winters are long • Short mild seasons • Not true summer seasons • It’s very dry

  8. Temperture • Very cold • Below freezing all year long. • 22 degrees Celsius to 6 degrees Celsius{ - 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 40 degrees Fahrenheit} • Latitude range is 60 degrees to 75 degrees N.

  9. Rainfall • Mostly snow and ice. • Fair amount of precipitation. • Precipitation 20cm {8in} • Rainfall is slim.

  10. Conclusion • That is the information about the ice biome. • Like animals and insects. • With plants and landforms. • Climate, temperature, and rainfall.
