  3. Student Grades Overview • All Students PK-12, B-21 • All Courses Completed • For High School Courses only those for High School Credit including dual credit. • Grades Earned for students in Grades 9-12 • Report 0 for PK-8 • Connection to NSSRS Staff Reporting

  4. Student Grades Template Changes/Clarification School of Membership Semester Code Section code, no change in requirements, possible changes in vendor extract.

  5. School of Membership School Number [Student Grades:Location Code (2)] For most students, the School of Membership is the school where the student is enrolled for the majority of their instruction. For students attending a program (e.g. focus, Rule 18, ESU or alternative programs), the School of Membership is the school where the student would be enrolled either due to residence in the district or due to assignment.

Semester Code • Issues with duplicate records (i.e. Quarter classes) • Issues determining “class” from Section Code • Created more options for semester code and • Use of the system generated section code or district/system generated code that remains the same for every reporting period for that class.

Staff Reporting Changes Affecting Student Grades • Postsecondary Staff • Don’t report in NSSRS Staff Reporting • Yes report NDE Staff ID in Student Grades • Controlling District = 00-0000 • Distance Learning Staff from Sending District • Don’t report assignment in NSSRS Staff Reporting at Receiving District • Yes report NDE Staff ID in Student Grades • Controlling District = County District Number for District sending distance learning.

Student Grades ReportingEarly Childhood • 180000 – Self Contained Classroom  Staff reported as P-1160 (regular early childhood Teacher) or 7-1160 (SPED early childhood teacher) or M-1160 or T-1160AND if the students have a Programs Fact Template– Early Childhood   EC-XXXXX OR • *180005 – Home-Based Program (Non-Sped) Staff reported as P-1160 (regular early childhood Teacher) OR • *194000 – Special Education In-Home Setting Staff reported as 7-1160 (sped early childhood Teacher) *The Home Based course descriptions are inclusive of teaching/coaching parents and families of young children birth to kindergarten eligible entrance age in the child's home.

Student Grades Reporting Students Age 18-21 Special Education students age 18-21 should be participating in one or both of the following courses: • 192000 Special Ed Functional Skills and Activities • 192015 Special Education Independent Living AND • The students should also be receiving academic instruction using the SPED Course codes or regular courses from Course Codes and Clearing Endorsements

Issues Student Grades Records Reported in wrong location (all student grades records reported in one school) Student Grades would not load due to NDE Staff ID for person not appropriately endorsed to teach and grade (i.e. only holds a substitute teaching certificate) Not all teachers in NSSRS Staff Reporting were on a Student Grades template for a Student

Due Dates and Data Changes Need to make changes BEFORE the Audit Window Close Date and you have already approved?Contact the NDE Helpdesk at 888-285-0556 or nde.helpdesk@nebraska.gov Need to make changes AFTER the Audit Window Close Date?Requests to change data, after the Audit Window Close Date, require submission of “Request to Submit Data Late or Make Data Changes” available within the Consolidated Data Collection.
