18. Making Corrections If the corrections are for the current year, upload is completed by the district. If the corrections are for previous years, use the Graduation Cohort Resolution Request tool in the CDC. This goes to the helpdesk. May not be able to make corrections to all years in the future, may be limited to those years used in AYP (see next slide).

Issues • Enrollment code 200 at the end of the school year. • Using the 200 when there is only one school • Students not in a school cohort only district level • Students that disappear, no shows • Students that transfer out after year four is completed. Report in the 5th year as transferred out. • To ensure the cohort is set correctly, do not set until the student is a first time ninth grader. Set it and forget it.

21. FAQs Q - Do SPED students who pass their cohort year(s) and continue to age 21 stay in the cohort? A – Yes. Q – When a student comes from another state and was a first time 9th grader but does not meet our requirements for 9th grade, can I set the cohort graduation year? A – No, this is national statistic, and you must honor the expected graduation year another state has set using the student's transcript irrespective of what grade is established in NE. 

22. FAQs Q – How do I know if a cohort has been set for a student coming from another Nebraska school? A - Use the Expected Graduation Year (EGY) Lookup Tool for students coming from other Nebraska public districts.

23. FAQs Q – Do I have to set a cohort for Foreign exchange students or students coming from Mexico? A – Yes. • Assign to a cohort, • May transfer out prior to graduation; or • May remain in the cohort if a regular high school diploma has been granted.

24. FAQs Q – I’ve heard that Military Children may be treated differently for graduation, how does that work? A – If the student meets these criteria, the student can be counted as a regular diploma recipient at the sending district: • Student transfers to another state during the senior year. • Due to parent military assignment. • Receiving and sending states are part of the Military Compact. • Student receives a regular diploma (203) at the sending district if the student did not meet receiving district’s graduation requirements. • Student is transferred out (201) at the receiving district • Sending district needs to work with the receiving district.

25. FAQs Q - For high school students included in NeSA testing is it cohort minus 1 or 11th grade? A – Cohort minus 1, so you might have an "11th grader“ that wasn't on testing labels.
