  2. Click on Mapmakeror “Choose a topic”

  3. Or use the Homepage Select the Central West CMA

  4. Choose a topic - Biodiversity

  5. Select the “Vegetation map - detail”

  6. A map appears with a legend. The mapped vegetation is in the map sheet grid.

  7. Functions are arranged into 5 tabs on the right, and the tools on the left

  8. Sections Make a map 1 Change the map area 2 Query layers 3 Add layers 4 Print or save 5 Edit map layers Tip: Follow the arrow for direction

  9. Change the map area Zoom Pan Find a place Locator map

  10. If you make a mistakewhichever method you use clicking onUndo will return to the previous map. the NSW button will return to NSW map

  11. Select the “Zoom in” tool and draw a box outlining your new map size

  12. The vegetation data is visible at this scale

  13. ZoomZoom in further to view more detail by drawing another box on the map.

  14. PanSelect to pan to an area outside the current map display

  15. PanClick inside the map to move

  16. PanThe new view is now to the left of the current view

  17. Find a PlaceChoose the Tab.

  18. Find a placeChoose Parkes from the scroll down list.

  19. The map is now centred on Parkes

  20. Locator MapDraw a square in the locator map to change the view

  21. Locator MapThe locator map shows new map extent
