Monkeys and chimpanzees traveling Into space. -Astro chimps job were to fly into capsules that would later carry humans into space. -the first flight was assigned to a cheerful chimp named Ham in 1961,Ham flew 250 kilometers into space before splashing down safely in the Atlantic ocean. -Ham retired to a zoological park in Washington DC and is now commerated at the international space hall of fame in new Mexico
Other animals helped pioneer human space travel -Arabella the space spider was sent into space to see if she can weave in zero gravity -Turtles called Zond5 flew to the moon and back -Arabella and another spider wove webs successfully -Cats did space jumps in France they were known as astrocats
