  5. Important Discovers in Math • Carl Gauss submitted the first rigorous proof of “The Fundamental Theorem Of Algebra.” • He also made a contribution to number theory. • Gauss discovered that a regular polygon with 17 sides could be drawn with only a strait edge and compass.
