  2. Review of the draft NGSS • Released to States (embargoed) May 4th • Public Release May 7th • 3 week review window – close May 28th • Release will be on-line through the www.nextgenscience.org web site • Survey/questionaire

Review of the draft NGSS • Suggest to form study groups • Provide informed feedback to the writers • Small group from school • District • Organization or program • Scope of the meeting • Broad comprehensive look at the entire document? • Focus on smaller number of core ideas or specific grade levels?

Review of the draft NGSS • Focus on depth and not breadth • More important to do an in-depth look on a few sections rather than a shallow look on the entire document • Half day (3-4 hours) or full day (6 hours) • Meeting needs • Encourage participants to bring laptops • Wifi Access • Space and tables

  5. Review of the draft NGSS • Decide if the review is going to be by group or individual • Survey tied to an email and can only respond to a survey once • Once submitted the survey cannot be accessed again by that email. • Groups can work together, record notes and comments, and send to group facilitator. The group facilitator will then summarize and submit.
