  3. The Problem: The Continuing Struggle Within Every Believer For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. (Galatians 5:17)

  4. The Potential: The Presence of the Holy SpiritWithin Every Believer Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. (John 16:7)

  5. The Promise: The One Who Lives Under the Influence of the Holy Spirit Will Experience Victory …He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith… (Ephesians 16-17a)

There is no alternative—and their genuine and active faith results in miracles. We have so much that we don’t need to trust the Spirit and the Spirit is less able to pour God’s grace into our lives.
