  2. What We Know • Man is spiritually dead – Ephesians 2: 1-3 • Man is spiritually born – God’s Spirit dwells in man’s spirit • Born again by the Spirit – John 3:1-9 • Made alive / quickened – Ephesians 2:1,5 • Regenerated – Titus 3:5

  3. We Have • The inner man (spirit) • The outer man (soul): will, mind, emotions • The outermost man (body, flesh)

  4. Inner Man (Spirit) Desires to: • Delight in the law of God: Romans 7:22 • Be strengthened with the power of the Holy Spirit: Ephesians 3:16 • Be renewed daily: 2 Corinthians 4:16 • Live a holy and Godly life: 1 Peter 1: 15-16; 1 Timothy 4:7 • Please and do all things to the glory of God Colossians 3: 17,23

  6. The Word of God Separates Man into 2 Parts • Inward Man • Romans 7:22 • Ephesians 3:16 • Job 32:8 • Outward Man • 2 Corinthians 4:16

How do I/We come to live/walk in the Power and Release the Holy Spirit • 2Timothy 1:7,12-14; Romans 7:22-25 • The Breaking- Hebrews 12:5-11; Proverbs 3:11-12 • For the brokenness and discipline to work there must be consecration- 1Thessalonians 4:4; 2Timothy2:21 • Separation- Inner man and Outer man must be separated • During the Discipline- 2Corinthians 12:9; James4:6; 1Peter 5:6,10; 2Peter 3:18 Philippians 3:3 2 Corinthians 3: 4-5;9:8

  9. God Desires First to Break down the Outward man and Second to Separate it so that the Inward Man may no longer be Entangled with the Outer man’s Activities • 1 John 3:3 • Philippians 4:8 • 1 Timothy 3:5 • 1 Timothy 5:22 • 2 Timothy 1:3 • Titus 1:15 • 2 Peter 3:1

  10. How Does the Living Man Divide? Hebrews 4:12 • For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
