Explanation • Each DEM honours student has to do learningactivitieswithin the 1, 2 and 3 stream • This is done to reassurethat a student developsseveralcompetences • The ‘3-stream’ facilitatesflexibility and customizationforstudents, highereducation, knowledge centers and (future) employers. The student canchoose to do a project, student research, (studentassistentschap) or a program offeredby the HvAorotherfaculties.
Explanation in general • A student needs to complete 15 ewps in max. 2 years’time • The student controlshis/her own program but is required to choose programs offeredwithin the threestreams
Leadership Program • A student can (for now) opt for 3 different approaches of leadership: from an entrepreneurial, innovative and global point of view. • Leadership and Entrepreneurship: Cases in Entrepreneurship • Leadership and Innovation: Leadership & Innovation • Leadership and Globalization: starts semester II • All programs are run separately but there is an overall program for all Honours Students facilitated by Liberal Arts, Bernhard Lievegoed College
Commerce, Finance, M&O (2) • Each student has to follow a program within his/her specialization of studies. All programs are 5 ewps • Commerce: Commerce 1 and Commerce 2: information will follow, Social Networks (in combination with 3 as 10 ewps in total) • Finance: Programs will be offered in semester 2. • Management & Organization: Internal Branding & Social Media (English) semester 1 and Kennismanagement (NL) semester 2
Range of possibilities (3) • Each DEM honoursstudentalso does a program in which (s)he shows someentrepreneurship, projectmanagement skills or researchskills. • Some programs are offered: studentassistentschap (semester I en II), HvA programs (www.designinsociety.nl) but youcanalsocreateyourown project or beasked to byyourwork placement employer.
Examples • Dave studies Sportsmarketing. He optsfor the Leadership and Globalization, picks a program from the Commerce stream and decides to do research for a lectureship. • Bouchra studies Communication. She wants to do Leadership & Innovation, picks ‘Kennismanagement’ within her M&O stream and is askedby her work placement employer to implement her advisory report forwhichshegains 5 ewps.
