Importing a Flash CS3 file into Dreamweaver: THE EVALUATION 100 POINTS
BEFORE THE EVALUATION… • OPEN the following programs: • Adobe Photoshop CS3 • Adobe Flash CS3 • Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
RULES OF THE EVALUATION • You are not to talk out loud. This should be perfectly clear. If any noise is above the level of a whisper, you will lose five points on the evaluation. A second noise violation will result in 0/100 points. • You are NOT ALLOWED to use any resource materials, such as videos or tutorials. If any such file is detected on your monitor, 0/100 POINTS. • If you are working with a partner, you will switch (on the keyboard) 22 minutes into the bell. You will be notified when to switch.
RULES OF THE EVALUATION, page 2 • This is an evaluation, which means that you are not to approach Mr. Woolery’s desk with questions. Part of the reason for an evaluation such as this is to determine which students are paying attention to the material, and those who are not. • You should allow for a specific amount of time for each step. Use the time to your advantage, and do not rush through the work.
RULES OF THE EVALUATION, page 3 • You will have the entire bell to complete this evaluation, your final Dreamweaver file will be saved as such: • Your Name(s) FLASH & DREAMWEAVER EVALUATION • SAVE YOUR WORK IN THIS FOLDER: WOOLERY > 8TH GRADE FLASH & DREAMWEAVER > YOUR BELL
STEP ONE • IN PHOTOSHOP, CREATE TWO FILES: • 750 x 150 PIXELS/RESOLUTION: 150, create a Header Bar image that consists of a blue (any shade) to white gradient (Linear Gradient) fade. Save as EVALUATION 1 • 150 x 150 PIXELS/RESOLUTION: 150, using the pen tool, create an image of an open eye. You may use an internet image for reference. Save as EVALUATION 2 SAVE BOTH FILES AS JPEGS.
STEP TWO • IN FLASH, IMPORT BOTH JPEGS TO THE STAGE • OVER THE COURSE OF 25 KEYFRAMES, THE FOLLOWING SHOULD HAPPEN: • The EVALUATION 2 IMAGE SHOULD FADE IN AND FADE OUT. • THE WORDS SO FAR, SO GOOD SHOULD FADE IN TO 100% (Alpha-opacity setting) BY THE END OF THE ANIMATION. YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN FONT/FONT SIZE.
STEP THREE • IN DREAMWEAVER, FOLLOW THE PROCESS OF INSERTING YOUR FLASH (MOVIE) FILE. • THIS WILL REQUIRE YOU TO SET UP A NEW SITE, SO SET UP A NEW FOLDER, TITLED 2 14 11 (today’s date) • SAVE BOTH THE .CSS AND .HTML FILES AS EVALUATION • WHEN YOU ARE READY TO SHOW YOUR ANIMATION, POLITELY RAISE YOUR HAND. • IF YOU DO NOT SHOW YOUR WORK IN CLASS, SAVE WHAT YOU HAVE FINISHED IN THE FOLDER LISTED ON SLIDE #5.
