Introduction Analysis and description of Healthcare LOM Aim: • To describe the MedBiquitous HLOM standard • To analyse the suitability of HLOM for the mEducator project Outcome: • A deliverable report which contains a commentary on HLOM and it’s suitability for current state-of-the-art medical e-learning resources to be submitted to the EC and made available to the wider community. Deninitions - 1 • Metadata • It is “structured information that describes, explains, locates, or otherwise makes it easier to retrieve, use or manage an information resource” (NISO, 2004, p.1) • Metadata Schema • Metadata elements grouped into sets designed for a specific purpose, e.g. for a specific domain or a particular type of information resource Plovdiiv,Boulgaria 21th January 2010
