  2. 忠犬小八的故事 • 忠犬八公銅像 八公銅像已成為澀谷區的標誌了。這座銅像位於澀谷車站北口的廣場,該出口也因此叫做「八公出口」。 • 八公忠狗是大正十二年(1923)出生於秋田縣大館市的秋田犬,出生三個月後就被住在澀谷町的東大農學部教授上野英三郎飼養,每天早晚八公都會到澀谷車站迎送主人。 • 1925年上野英三郎教授過世,八公不知主人已經不在人世,依舊每天到澀谷車站等待主人回來,就這樣持續了十年,某天牠終究抵不過暴風雪,凍死在澀谷車站前。 • 附近的攤販看到這一幕感人的畫面,便設立銅像以紀念八公對主人的忠心,每年四月八日為忠犬八公的紀念日。 • 可能因上野英三郎的名字有「上野」二字,忠犬八公的遺骸因此被安置在上野的國立科學博物館內,永久保存展示。
