How to calculate the indicators (2) - Definitions • ‘Usually’: at least half of the days worked in a reference period of 4 weeks (work in the evening or at night) / at least two days on the weekend in a reference period of 4 weeks • Night work: work done during sleeping hours, including hours between midnight and 5 a.m. • Work in the evening: work done after the usual hours of working time and before sleeping time, including hours between 6 p.m. and midnight • Work on the weekend: according to national legislations
How to calculate (3) • Data source • Labour force survey or other household surveys • Target population • Employed persons aged 15+, apprentices excluded • Recommended disaggregation • Sex, age, nationality, occupation (ISCO), economic activity, family situation, status in employment
Flexible work schedules • Measurement objective: • Flexibility to decide about the working hours (employees), distinguish between different forms of flexible work schedules • Open issue: • Variable under development: LFS AHM 2015 • Different concepts and forms of flexible work organization • Which level of flexibility has to be considered?
