EGGS • The eggs are the first step of the life cycle of a lady bug. • The mother lays 10 or 15 eggs and leave them on a leaf. • At first the eggs look like yellow, gooey, jelly beans.
LARVA • The little newborn ladybugs are called larvae. • This is the time that larvae start to look for food like aphids and mites because they must eat a LOT before they become a full grown ladybugs. • All babies BITE for their own defense.
Larva starts to grow and looks different and begins to shed skin. This is called molting. They become bigger each time they shed. BIGGER LARVA
PUPA • In two weeks larvae looks like a lobster without legs and claws. • The DNA are forming to cause some thing extraordinary to happen when this pupa lies on a leaf………..
WOW!!!!!!!! Pupa splits apart and out comes a ladybug. It has to wait until its shell hardens. After that, she can fly off.
