Activity 1 Design your own treasure map using symbols. Draw a grid over the map adding grid references along the bottom and up the side. • Your map needs to have 10 symbols drawn on it and a key explaining each one. • You need to write down the 4 figure grid reference of each symbol • You then need to draw a treasure trail on the map which goes through the 10 symbols- your trail will have a start point and an end point (where the buried treasure chest is)

Activity 2 • Write a story about your journey along the treasure trail, include all the things you see along the way, make it as exciting as possible. • Each time you move from 1 part of the map to the next, write the direction you are moving in using the Cardinal Points (on the next slide) Good luck me hearties…aaaaargh!
