  8. 6-Flash Drive (USB Drive) *Solid State Device *Your computer needs a USB port to use this.

  9. 7-Solid State • This technology allows a device to boot and open programs quickly. It also allows you to multi-task better. It has NO moving parts. What is this technology called?

  10. Flash Drive or Hard Drive • An example of a solid state device

  11. 8-CD/DVD Drive This optical drive spins to record data.

  12. 9-Hard Drive Permanent storage inside your computer..

  13. 10-C Drive • The letter given to the Hard Drive

  14. 11-USB Drives You plug your digital cameras, ipods and flash drives into these.

  15. 12-Power Supply Supplies electricity to your computer.

  16. 13-CPU • This is often referred to as the brain of the computer.

  17. Modem or network card • Connects your computer to other computers in a network so that you can communicate.

  18. Optical Drive • Another name for the CD/DVD Drive
